  • Free from molasses, artificial flavours, preservatives and binders. Non-GM

Why feed Dengie Ulser Lite?

Our team of nutritionists have developed Ulser Lite to help find the balance between supplying sufficient fibre for good doers to maintain gastric health without promoting excessive weight gain. Recent studies have shown that using straw as part of the ration does not increase the risk of gastric ulcers (Jansson et al, 2021) and provides a valuable source of low calorie fibre. The inclusion of grass alongside the straw aids palatability and ensures the feed is soft and palatable.

Top Tips for Feeding the Ulcer Prone Good Do-er

  • Make fibre the foundation of the diet, both long stem and short chop, topping up with a supplement or balancer to provide a balanced ration

  • Keep fibre intake as maximal as possible whilst managing bodyweight by using late cut hay and other lower calorie fibre sources such as Ulser Lite

  • Feed regular forage feeds split into as many small meals as possible when your horse is not at grass leaving a larger quantity overnight

  • Feed a small alfalfa based meal prior to exercising

  • Make sure your horse has constant access to water
